Dental Exam
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at the initial dental visit. At regular check-up exams, your dentist and hygienist will include the following:
-
Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, cysts, bone loss and other conditions. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions.
-
Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
-
Gum disease evaluation: Check the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease and bad breathe.
-
Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments.
-
Examination of existing restorations: Check current fillings, crowns, etc.

Restorative Dentistry
-
Dental Implants: An ideal solution for patients with missing teeth. Implants are permanently set in the jaw and affixed with replacement teeth and stabilize shaky dentures
-
Dental Crowns: When a tooth is severely damaged or decayed, dental crowns act as a protective cover, strengthening the tooth and gives better cosmetics.
-
Dental Bridges: For one or more missing teeth, dental bridges literally "bridge the gap" between remaining teeth, stabilizing the jaw by surrounding those teeth with attractive crowns.
-
Dentures: Replacing one or more teeth is easier than ever before with the multitude of denture alternatives available to patients. Dentures are now more comfortable and affordable than ever before. We also offer invisible partial dentures.
-
Root Canal: Infected tissues in the tooth pulp can cause severe pain and eventually lead to tooth loss. Root canal therapy is designed to remove infected tissue with the goal of saving the tooth.
-
Gum Disease: Periodontal disease is characterized by swollen, tender, and bleeding gums. Both early and advanced periodontal disease can be treated with both surgical and non-surgical therapy. Gum disease can also cause bad breathe which may be disturbing and uncomfortable.
-
TMJ Disorder: A misaligned bite, bruxism (teeth grinding), and other factors can put stress on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). TMJ disorders can be the source of a variety of painful symptoms, from headaches to ear and neck pain.
-
Full Mouth Reconstruction: Patients with severe dental problems often require a full-mouth reconstruction. Dentists performing full-mouth reconstructions often draw on both cosmetic and restorative dentistry solutions to improve the health, function, and appearance of the smile.

Professional Dental Cleaning
Your cleaning appointment will include a dental exam and the following:
-
Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental instruments.
-
Removal of plaque: Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins (poisons) that inflame the gums and goes into the blood stream. This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease!
-
Teeth polishing: Remove stain and plaque that is not otherwise removed during tooth brushing and scaling.

Cosmetic Dentistry
-
Whitening - is the most common cosmetic dental procedure and is also known as "teeth bleaching". While many whitening options are now available, including over the counter products, dentist-supervised treatments remain the recommended procedures for lightening discolored teeth. Your dentist will advise which particular method of whitening would be best for you.
-
Bonding - is a procedure that is performed chairside, in which an enamel-like dental composite material is applied to a tooth's surface, sculpted into shape, hardened and then polished.
-
Veneers - are ultra-thin, custom-made porcelain laminates that are bonded directly to the teeth. They are an option for closing gaps and discolored teeth that do not respond well to whitening procedures. Depending on the procedure, tooth reduction may be necessary. A beautiful smile will be achieved within a week.
-
Gum Lift - is a cosmetic dental procedure that raises and sculpts the gum line. The procedure involves reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones to create the appearance of longer or more symmetrical teeth.
-
Dental Implants - are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. A person who has lost teeth, regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that their teeth appear natural and their facial contours will be preserved. The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing. Implants may help stabilize loose and uncomfortable dentures.
